Daisy boots Irish Art Little girl wearing wellies looking into a Brown Thomas bag

Daisy Boots Irish Arts

This painting  is gone to a new home in Cork as a wedding gift.

This  painting Daisy Boots Irish Arts of a little girl with her cuddly toys opening a Brown Thomas bag was truly a pleasure to paint. Because I love working tone on tone, the subtle variations of colour is always a wonderful challenge. I love the plain look of the Brown Thomas bags against the colourful boots, and on this occasion, the soft textured pinks of the toys and the tee shirt with the rich velvet of the chair.

Over the years I’ve painted lots of  little girls and little boys opening up their Brown Thomas bags with a special gift inside. I love the idea of the dressed up child wearing a beautiful velvet dress and a pair of wellies underneath. All dressed up but hey lets be practical.

The Brown Thomas Series Daisy Boots Irish Arts

The idea for these Brown Thomas themed paintings came from looking at my nieces and nephew, when they were young wearing beautiful clothes often from Brown Thomas but also wearing brightly coloured wellies and jumping in puddles.

Over the years they were very willing models. As a result I was able to get lots of photos and set up many scenes with beautiful clothes, wellies and the bags.

I do these paintings as commissions for wedding, or special birthday gifts.

For Christmas 2022 there will be a few of these in small sizes for sale.

To equire about a commission or to see the paintings on offer for Christmas this year please contact me. Commissions take approximately two months. The commissioned work comes nicely framed. Shipping is included in the price. In conclusion, a special mention to all the beautiful little models that I have worked with over the years. A big thanks to all the parents who let me take photos of their little darlings.
