What Past Clients Say:
PAINTING PEOPLE
FOR ME, THERE IS NO GREATER HONOUR
For me, art is a form of expression and so very visual. That is why I love to paint children and people in their usual environment. As such, I aim to capture a fleeting moment, a movement, an expression that will resonate with the subject and their people. I literally know at times that I am tasked with Painting Heirlooms that will be passed down through the generations-no pressure! However, it is also a huge privilege. People let me into their homes, their lives and their world because they trust me and I always do my utmost to honour that.
Once I get into working on a portrait piece I simply cannot be disturbed. I just have to keep going until I feel I’ve captured something special. But it’s not always so intense -some days I just play around painting teddy bears! One way or another, I can usually be found in my studio lost in my own world or somebody elses…Morning time is best for the detailed work like hands eyes, and patterns that need concentration. I am in my studio by nine o’clock and begin my day by mixing the colours of the day while listening to podcasts. By early afternoon the concentration levels drop so its easy listening music and painting in the background, assessing the mornings work, and prep for the following day.
If you happen to be in Kerry and would like to see my art up close, my work is available to view in Hennebries in Traleee & further afield you can view my original paintings at The Tuckmill Gallery in Kildare.
