I was honoured to be have been a part of the O’Sé brothers tribute night. It was wonderful to have two of each special edition Artist Proofs of Birthright and First Blood presented to the lads with a few personalised words from the ever eloquent Dara O’ Cinneide “as gaeilge”.

” Our club had a tribute night for the four O’Sé brothers in December 2017 and when it came to choosing the appropriate GAA themed presentations, ‘Birthright’ and ‘First Blood’ spoke to the heart and to the soul of when acknowledging one familys’ contribution to Kerry football. Go raibh math agat Maureen for so eloquently conveying some of the essence of Kerry football.”

Here are some of the things clients have said about my work:
Maureens art and one of her most alluring for me was “Birthright”. This work of art symbolises Kerry patriotism and the passion that is the foundation of Kerry Football and Kerry People. This has pride of place in my home and I look forward to building on the collection.

Having two sons who played for their county, one here and one in Australia, I thought Birthright was an appropriate image for them. Both of them have them hanging in their living rooms taking pride of place.

Maureen has painted my three children over the past few years. In each painting she has captured a unique moment of the child engrossed in play and has created a warm, enduring memory of that childhood in a style that is natural and authentic.

I found Birthright on the Kerry GAA website and thought it would be a great Christmas gift for my father. He was born in Kerry and left there in the 1940’s but still is on top of all the Kerry football doings. He passed that passion on to me also thus the need for two prints!
– Tom in Pittsburgh “Birthright”
Hi Maureen, just dropping a note to say thanks very much for your beautiful print Birthright – we were in Killarney for the day and spotted it in a shop, and passing it three times, it just had to come home with us. It’s getting a very special place on the wall!
