Maureen O’Mahony is originally from  Dublin, and now lives in Co. Kerry.
She is a self taught artist and  her  approach to colour and form is influenced by the techniques of the old masters. Maureen paints people primarily children  in settings that capture those fleeting moments of time.

She is the creator of an  immensely popular series of GAA themed Fine Art Prints depicting the importance of the tradition of the GAA in modern day Ireland.

For me it is all about the visual. I work from photographs and but also imagination. I love working with bright colours and pattern. Children are wonderful to work with and an absolute pleasure to paint.

Children are very special and live completely in the moment, through my work I seek to capture their essence, their inner light  .”

It’s all about the visual

” My two favourites artists  are  Rembrandt and John Singer Sargent for many reasons but mainly their technical skill and  use of light and shadow.”

“I use the classic techniques of the Old Masters with a contemporary flair.”

Maureen now paints full time, some of her paintings sell as Fine Art Prints. There is a selection of GAA themed paints, fine Art Prints  and Christmas Cards available also. Please have a  browse through  the  website.
